There are multiple ways to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. For those with a master’s degree in psychology or other similar degrees, all it takes to become a BCBA is for them to earn an Applied Behavioral Analysis certificate. However, something to keep in mind if you go that route is that certificate programs are not eligible for federal financial aid. On the other hand, those without a master’s degree can complete BCBA coursework while simultaneously completing their master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related area and a concentration in ABA.

Another thing to remember is that while students can complete coursework for these certificates online, they will still have to undergo demanding practicum work to satisfy the BACB’s certification requirements.

There are few online ABA programs in existence, especially when taking accreditation and reputation into consideration. Below we’ve compiled a list focusing mainly on the cost per credit.
